How to Have a Happy New Year
Vicky LyonsAs 2026 approaches, the media may be full of doom and gloom, but reading between the lines a powerful shift is unfolding. After centuries shaped by control, fear, and imbalance, humanity appears to be waking up.
Systems that dismissed community wisdom, feminine energy and reverence for the Earth in favour of endless wars and material wealth are being questioned more openly than ever before.
Traditional knowledge—whether in medicine, plant wisdom, or ways of living in harmony with nature has been systematically marginalised and even labelled as misinformation while mass-produced, profit-driven alternatives are normalised. Just recently Cordyceps and Turkey Tail mushroom extracts have both been banned in the UK. While this is alarming, it shows that the systems that work to protect profits of the big corporations are rattled. They should be.
Education has become a system to train children to conform rather than to think critically, imagine boldly, or trust their inner voice. But new generations are wise to techniques of manipulation in a way previous generations were not. Maybe thats because the games people (and the establishment) play are now discussed in great detail all over social media.
Religions that have used fear, to control the masses for centuries, marginalised women and accumulated vast wealth are losing support as people rediscover the true mystical roots of these organisations. Once labelled as heresy, their texts were burned (as well as their followers at times). The root religions told their followers to honour their own sovereignty and believe in their own divinity, which didn’t suit organisations that wished to control 'the meek'. These ancient religions and beliefs which have been violently suppressed for many centuries are now openly discussed on podcasts and YouTube videos.
Politics, media, and economics have all become entangled with corporate interests, leaving people feeling unheard and disconnected. Yet despite this, awareness has grown. The internet, for all its flaws, has allowed ideas to circulate beyond traditional gatekeepers, and more people can now see patterns that once remained hidden.
This moment might feel tense, even chaotic, but it also carries hope. Periods of rapid change always come with resistance, particularly from those losing power. Their resistance is starting to look a little desperate. Authoritarian laws, a rush for digital ID's and centralised digital currency, censorship and a constant spread of division and fear in the media.
The opportunity before us is not to react with anger, but to respond with clarity and care. By staying grounded, supporting local communities, nurturing creativity, and choosing cooperation over division, people are reclaiming their power peacefully and quietly.
The energy of 2026 points toward renewal: a rebalancing where empathy, intuition, and shared responsibility—the divine feminine—rise again.
Radical Acts Of Love for 2026
We can make a stand in so many ways, big and small: rejecting ultra-processed food grown using harmful pesticides is one way, buying from an organic farmer or farm shop (when you can). Resisting chemically laden cleaning and personal care products in favour of natural non-toxic alternatives. It can be building community, helping a neighbour, supporting local businesses, growing your own food, rebuilding the soil (even if it’s just in your back yard), cultivating resilience and resistance and refusing to rise to division and hate, or just a random act of kindness. This may sound, to some, like hippy nonsense, but I defy you to deny, that every time you make a positive choice a little bit of negativity is naturally dispersed harmlessly into the aether, and the world edges every so slightly back into balance. It simply stands to reason.
Holding steady in love, harmony, and peace may be the most revolutionary act of all. We are the 99% and when enough of us raise our vibration and emit positive energy The Universe has no choice but to reflect that love it right back to us.
Happy New Year
