Creams for perioral dermatitis

Collection: Creams for perioral dermatitis

Natural Skincare
Many of our customers with perioral dermatitis choose the Clean and Clear Natural Skincare System, often opting for the version with Unfragranced Beauty Balm if their skin is particularly sensitive — which is common with this condition.

Multi-Tasking, Gentle Skincare
Our fragranced or unfragranced Beauty Balm can be used to cleanse, moisturise, and prime the skin as part of the system. After cleansing, apply Zinc and Calendula Cream to affected areas. While some find the zinc oxide can leave a white cast, this is easily avoided by switching to our Calendula and Marshmallow Balm, a similar formula without zinc. That said, the Zinc and Calendula Cream remains our most recommended product for perioral dermatitis.

Worried About the White Cast?
You can blend Zinc and Calendula Cream with our Mineral Foundation to create a custom, 100% natural liquid foundation that matches your skin tone. Simply mix the two in your palm, or apply the powder over the cream using a kabuki or powder brush. With a bit of practice, you’ll have a natural-looking, non-reactive, anti-inflammatory concealer/foundation — perfect for sensitive, perioral dermatitis-prone skin.

Why Lyonsleaf Works for Perioral Dermatitis
Our calendula-rich formulas are naturally calming and zinc oxide massively boosts the effect, unlike steroid creams, our products will not trigger perioral dermatitis. All Lyonsleaf products work to restore and maintain healthy skin barrier function — locking in moisture and keeping irritants out. Switching to oil cleansing with Beauty Balm can significantly improve skin barrier health and reduce flare-ups.

All Lyonsleaf products are 100% natural, free from preservatives, emulsifiers, and synthetic chemicals.

Look Beyond Topical Treatments
Topical creams can help manage symptoms, but they’re not a cure. We encourage you to explore root causes like diet, lifestyle, and environmental triggers. For more advice, visit our Natural Perioral Dermatitis Treatment page.

Important Notes
If you have problem skin, always consult a doctor or dermatologist. Be ingredient-savvy — knowing what you're applying is essential. The Association of British Dermatologists states that perioral dermatitis is often caused by topical steroid creams. Unfortunately, not all practitioners are aware of this and may still prescribe them for the condition.
