At Lyonsleaf we know everybody's skin is different, and what may suit one person may not suit you. So we have three calendula balms to rescue your skin from any little emergency.
All products are suitable for the body, face and eye area. They all contain the same dose of our homegrown Calendula, so potent that they are orange in colour (the zinc product is yellow due to the white zinc oxide powder).
All three products are free from preservatives, emulsifiers and all artificial chemicals. Those in the know will be very impressed by our ingredients.
All three products are water-free, predominately organic unrefined plant oils, rich in ceramides and diverse fatty acids, especially linoleic acid and gamma linolenic acid (GLA), which are both vital for maintaining good skin barrier and healthy skin. Atopic dermatitis (the most common form of eczema) has been related to a deficiency of delta-6-desaturase, an enzyme responsible for the conversion of linoleic acid to gamma-linolenic acid (GLA).
Because the 3 ml samples are water-free, they will go a lot further than you would expect, you only need a tiny amount. All three products may be suitable for skin prone to eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and other chronic skin conditions. We suggest using the samples to establish which ones suit you best.
There is also an option to add a Beauty Balm or an Unfragranced Beauty Balm sample to the set. Lyonsleaf Beauty Balms can be used for hot cloth cleansing (also known as the oil cleansing method). Using a Beauty Balm to oil cleanse followed by one of the calming calendula products offers a complete, calming facial skincare system free from all artificial chemicals and suitable for customers with any sort of problem skin affecting the face. This system is also suitable for those with very sensitive or reactive skin. We recommend choosing the unfragranced version of the Beauty Balm if your skin is very sensitive. You should have enough product in the sample to oil cleanse for a week. You will need a face flannels or muslins. Ideally, you want a clean cloth every time you cleanse, but as long as they are rinsed in hot water and dried between uses you can reuse cloths when trialling the system.

Zinc and Calendula Cream
A 100% natural, soothing emollient for adults, children and babies over 4 weeks. Repels moisture can be used as a barrier cream. An unfragranced white ointment. Made with pure plant oils, beeswax, minerals, home-grown herbs and nothing else. 99% organic/wild harvest/mineral. Full Ingredients below.
The zinc makes the skin look white if applied liberally (apply sparingly and rub in to easily avoid this).

Storage & Shipping
Store all Lyonsleaf products in a cool dark place to preserve beneficial compounds and avoid solid products melting.
Stored properly and unopened all products will keep indefinitely. Use within 12 months of opening.
If a solid product does melt, reset it in a refrigerator. Products containing shea butter should be warmed to a liquid state and then reset quickly in a refrigerator to avoid the shea butter forming grainy lumps as it hardens.

How Quickly do you despatch?
We despatch orders Monday to Friday and we always dispatch the same working day (if ordered before 12 noon) or the following working day.
Will my skin react to Lyonsleaf Products
Our products are all 100% natural and free from all artificial chemicals. Because they are water free we can even avoid antimicrobial preservatives and emulsifiers. For this reason it is very unusual for anyone to react to our products at all. However some people are sensitive to essential oils, so if you are super-sensitive please choose unfragranced product options. Even less common, it is possible to be allergic to calendula and other herbs, so it is always important to do a patch test. In the unlikely event that you do have an adverse reaction, you can return your product for a full refund. We also sell samples of most products so you can try before you invest in a big pot.
Why is the pot so small?
Lyonsleaf products are water free and contain only the finest, plant oils, butters natural waxes and mineral ingredients. Most high Street products are up to 80% water, which means you need to apply them much more liberally and frequently. You will find you only need to use Lyonsleaf products very sparingly to achive good hydration that lasts all day. Products that are rich in soothing herbs can be used more frequently to achieve the best calming effect, but they still only need to be used sparingly. So these little pots go a long way, using less packaging and less transportation resources.
Are Lyonsleaf products vegan?
Much of the Lyonsleaf range is vegan, but we do use organic beeswax in some products. When it came to choosing a suitable wax, we decided it would be better for the environment to choose a farming method that promotes pollinators rather than a vegetable mono-crop that causes deforestation and loss of habitat. We only use organic beeswax as organic farming standards require farmers to have high welfare standards for Bees.
